Property of one of the members of the Marquis de Saint-Estèphe cooperative, Philippe Guyonnaud, this confidential estate of just 9.37 hectares is located on the Ladouys terroir, one of the most renowned in Saint-Estèphe, and not far from great wines. Among these great wines we find in particular Lafon Rochet but also Château Lafite Rothschild which has a plot in AOC Saint-Estèphe. Its vineyard is today composed of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Merlot. The aging takes place partly in vats to preserve the freshness of the fruit and the other part in barrels for tannins and roundness.
Tasting notes
Pretty ruby colour of beautiful intensity with purple reflections. It is shiny and opaque in its density. Surprising nose with its finesse and fruitiness with notes of cherries, blackberries and blackcurrant. Then arrive fresh notes of liquorice and peppermint. The wine has a powerful attack with a square structure and reserved fruitiness. The finish is very embossed with flavours of liquorice and pepper
