The story begins in 1956 when Paul and Fernande Fompérier bought their first plot of vines on the fabulous terroirs of Saint-Emilion. They gradually expanded the estate to arrive at a beautiful property of around 17 hectares today. Currently this family estate is in the hands of the second and third generation of Fompérier. The wines are produced in the purest Bordeaux traditions and the harvest is done by hand for greater respect for the grapes.
Tasting notes
A very successful vintage. The presence of Cabernets and a little Malbec is perhaps not unrelated. The nose combines blackberry with an elegant woodiness evoking praline. In the same aromatic register, the palate offers supple and tasty flesh, carried by silky tannins. What we call a “ pleasure wine”.
