Grape Variety
Appellation: Cote Roannaise, Loire Valley
Comment
The Côte Roannaise appellation, still too often overlooked by wine enthusiasts, is located at the southern end of the Loire Valley, in the Massif Central. Nestled in the midst of this volcanic granite massif lies the Domaine Sérol vineyard, cultivated using biodynamic methods.
Tasting notes
Made from Gamay, this cuvée is vinified with about 25% whole bunches, which enhances the fruity aromas and freshness on the palate. Aged in cement tanks to preserve a supple texture, this light red wine is crisp and full of life.
Food pairing
For food pairings, you could grill a tuna steak simmered with peppers and tomatoes, as this wine is low in tannins. For a vegetarian option, sauté green beans with garlic and cherry tomatoes in a pan.
